ACI-LAC Facilitation, Airport IT
and Security Committee
Facilitation
Facilitation addresses the efficient management of the flow of passengers, baggage and cargo through airport facilities, as well as ensuring that services are provided in a safe, secure and accessible environment, exceeding customer needs and expectations.
To ensure the best passenger experience, airports continue to implement new technologies and best practices that improve processes, flows and accessibility.
ACI is committed to supporting airports in improving passenger processes by providing recommendations, guidelines and best practices, along with measurement and benchmarking opportunities.
ACI World Facilitation and Services Committee (FSSC)
Represents member airports to ensure that policies and regulations help improve terminal processes by enabling the incorporation of technology and considering infrastructure accessibility.
SECURITY - AVSEC
Aviation security (AVSEC) remains one of the industry’s top priorities. In the face of a complex and evolving global security climate, airports promote security measures based on the current risk context.
By adopting risk-based measures and improving screening processes, airports are working to strengthen their ability to respond to threats while providing a streamlined passenger experience.
ACI-LAC works closely with the ICAO NACC and SAM regional offices and other industry stakeholders in developing policies and measures to efficiently mitigate any new threats.
To assist airports in improving security processes and standards, ACI makes available to its member airports a number of tools including the APEX in Security peer review program, the Smart Security program, security training and documentation.
Works closely with international bodies to ensure that standards and guidelines contribute to improved security measures and reflect the interests of airports worldwide.
Technology - Airport IT
Airports are continually looking to implement new technologies adapted to the industry to ensure growth and more efficient use of infrastructure.
To help airports adapt to a constantly evolving environment, ACI works closely with other industry players to develop policies and best practices.
ACI also offers tools and services, including publications, training courses and a comprehensive cybersecurity self-assessment tool.
ACI-World Airport IT Committee
Monitor and share IT developments with member airports by providing guidance on the implementation of new technologies, procedures and automation practices.
Cybersecurity
As airports continue to embrace digital transformation and rely on advanced technologies, safeguarding critical assets and sensitive data has become paramount. In this current digital age, the aviation industry faces an ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats, making robust cybersecurity measures a necessity.
ACI is fully committed to developing safe and secure airport operations in the realm of cybersecurity. Our comprehensive approach focuses on equipping airports with training, tools, and guidance to mitigate risks, detect and respond to threats, and build resilient systems.
The ACRIS program defines a framework for airports, airlines and suppliers to share data, business processes and IT solutions to drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions.
